a cure for the common block

While so many panicked, Zara remembered a story passed on from her great-grandfather, which he learned from his great-grandmother; the generations beyond were unknown, but it was a tale of destruction and redemption, a plight visiting and overtaking our world and our people, controlling and using us as a means to an end. The story instilled a rebellious core in Zara, which tormented her parents for years, but as they were no longer alive, she felt obligated to spread her nature like a virus. Rather than leave a dangling hope for redemption in her yarn, Zara tied up an ending, she gradually and steadily organized a revolution, creating a self-fulfilling prophecy of domination over oppressive outsiders. Before Zara understood the force overcoming her world, she understood the power of words.
