Twelve knew his heritage before he knew his mathematics; he knew his status in the Colony since his fifth birthday. When his father succumbed to his heart and Twelve inherited the Lands, he abdicated authority to the seven regions, dividing power each to the lords of the mountains, deserts, forests, frosts, swamps, seas, and the precious plains. The blight of the Fifty Year War stained almost the entirety of the Reign of Twelve, however once settlement was reached between the lords, all changed, and eventually History would place Twelve among the wisest Kings of Osla, as well as its least appreciated.
