a cure for the common block

Three Words

Another story I did for a friend’s birthday

Howard stopped on his way home and picked up the nicest play tea set he could find; he debated wrapping it or not, and eventually decided against it. He was already late, so he took his time driving back, not even rushing through yellow lights. He walked in the door and was greeted with the sound of children laughing and playing, wrapping torn to shreds, and cameras snapping pictures. He held the box behind his back and walked into the living room, with boxes and toys and wrapping paper strewn about. He asked if it was someone’s birthday today and a single hand shot into the air, Howard smiled and revealed the tea set, handing it over. His son beamed as he held it, amazed by all the features and details, and quietly, almost to himself, said “It is perfect.”
